World-Renowned Addictions Expert Don Lavender Leads Seminar on Addiction at The Renewal Centre, Reading

Published on February 1, 2013 by Meena

Camino Recovery an Addiction Treatment centre base in Spain are offering GPs and Counsellors the opportunity to meet with Addictions Therapist Don Lavender BA M.Div for an education in Addiction at The Renewal Centre, Swallowfield. This seminar will run on Monday 11th February between 3-5pm.

Don is an American psychotherapist with over 30 years experience in addictions treatment.

Over the past 30 years, he has held clinical and consultative positions in some of the most effective treatment centres in the world. These include the Priory Hospitals in the UK and Sierra Tucson in Arizona, where he was Director of the Family Programme and a key player in setting up a 70-bed eating disorder facility. He now runs Camino Recovery in Spain.

Don Lavender is renowned for his Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) work, which he helped to develop in US treatment centres over 20 years ago. He is the author of ‘Equine-Utilised Psycotherapy’ for those interested in EUP as an affective vehicle to address relationship/boundary issues as well as the journey to the heart. Don believes it can be an effective tertiary tool due to metaphoric approaches that has the tendency to be less complex than psychotherapy.

Don is in the UK to share his expertise in this field, looking at treatment options and exploring his specialist areas – Family Therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Camino Recovery Centre offers addiction treatment for individuals, families, counselling for alcohol and drug abuse as well as treatment for depression and anxiety. If you are concerned about any of these issues then please contact Meena Lavender at the Camino Recovery Centre on +44 207 558 8420 or visit www.caminorecovery.com.
